The NWSFTCP has had a longstanding relationship with the Miriuwung and Gajerrong (MG), who have been involved in the Cape Domett turtle monitoring program since 2013. Each year DBCA joint management MG rangers and Traditional Custodians have joined NWSFTCP staff to conduct the two-week monitoring of nesting females on the only regularly monitored winter nesting rookery in Western Australia. Partnerships with the Miriuwung and Gajerrong people has been essential to the success of monitoring this site and their participation has been invaluable due to the shared local knowledge and cross-cultural exchange.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional owners throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
