The NWSFTCP completes annual monitoring on Thevenard Island and collaborates with the Chevron Indigenous Sea Rangers on Onslow Back Beach, which is Thalanyji Country. Program staff have met with Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC) members and representatives to discuss and explore options for collaboration. BTAC has strong ambition to establish a Land and Sea Country Management Program, and we will continue discussions to determine how we can best work together for mutual benefit.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional owners throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
