Cape Domett in the Kimberley is one of the highest density nesting sites for flatback turtles in Australia. This rookery belongs to the north-western Kimberley genetic stock, is a winter nesting site and a reference site for the NWSFTCP. Turtle nesting abundance and distribution across the beach is monitored using daily track counts for two weeks in August. The fieldwork is undertaken in collaboration with the Miriuwung and Gajerrong DBCA rangers and Traditional Custodians.
